Black to the next level! This chicken is Black to the bone, skin, meat and organs! Even the toenails, beak, and mouth are BLACK! When agitated or excited the wattles and comb can take on a dark rose color. This is one of the rarest chickens in the world! Gorgeous black plumage that shimmers greens and blues in the sun!

They have a dominant gene that causes hyperpigmentation (also termed as Fibromelanosis) leading to the skin, feathers and even the internal organs appearing dark black. The breed originated from the island of Java, Indonesia.
